Do you know that anyone could just literally publish their application on the AppStore or any other marketplace within a day? It is possible and due to the barrier of entry have decrease over the years. If you have not know how mobile application development is in the past, let me just write about the "history" of it.
In the past to publish an application, you would have to head over to the monopolize mobile carrier like SingTel, M1 or StarHub to get your application to their millions of subscribers. This waiting time process takes a long time and it is frustrating if you're inpatient. Firstly you have to create the application and you have to make sure that the coding is neat and perfect. The graphic must be up to standard. After which, you have to write a proposal to allow these mobile carrier to publish your application to their database.
Apart from the waiting time, the payment fee is huge. To publish a single application it could be a few thousands and thousands of dollars. Okay even you can afford it, it doesn't mean that your application will be approve. Your application will be pilled up like thousands of other big corporate application.

Draw Something Success
Some of you may have played it, or heard it or perhaps you even paid to Draw Something, a social game which user draw a term that is given to them and the other user have to guess what it is. Do you know that this application by OMGPOP hit virtual and was brought by Zynga for $183 million dollars after one year?

You could get a developer to do an application exactly as Draw Something for 200k.
"With a project of this magnitude, you’ll want to work with a power house development shop that can handle all aspects of the process – planning, design, development, testing, publishing, marketing. You’ll need to come up with an idea that is equally titanic as “Pictionary for iPhone” and will need at least 10 months to block off. Impossible? Heck no, but it’s a huge project. This is not something I would ever outsource – I would want to partner with the best of the best."

“But quality of work can be expected only through personal satisfaction, dedication and enjoyment. In our profession, precision and perfection are not a dispensable luxury, but a simple necessity.”
– Niklaus WirthDo you also know that a year before it was sold to Zynga they have earn a six figure revenue per year? Or is it per month? NO! It's per day. Isn't it great to build an application once and earn passive income out of it? If you are wondering it must be hard to do it or it may cost a huge some of money...

A Smartphone Isn't A Smartphone
“Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.” ― Leo Tolstoy

Why does a smartphone isn't a smartphone? This is real fact that all major phone brands have to solve. Just think about it, how many times have you tired to dialed your children and they didn't pick up your call? Instead they sent you a text message or a message online through Facebook, Kik, What's App or Viber? The younger generation have took phone for granted.
Traditionally, phone are used for one purpose. That is to call. With increase in technology, phone function increases with text messages, radio, touch light, bluetooth, wifi, 3G, 4G, LTE and such. These days smartphone aren't smartphone anymore unless they have mobile applications in them.
A smartphone must have the ability to access Facebook, Gmail, Games and more. Just think about it, why most of us choose Apple phone over Nokia? Is'it because it can receive messages faster than Nokia? Is'it because it can withstand drop? No! In fact, Apple phone will be spoiled when it's drop even from the waist level. On the other hand, having to use Nokia in the past, I have drop it several times and it didn't crack nor spoil. So what is'it that most of us choose Apple over Nokia? It's because of the diverse application you can download from the AppStore. Just think about it, if someone just got his phone, what's the first thing or one of the first thing he would do?
It's to download application. So, how does the person know what application is the best? Here's a trick I'll be revealing to get more download as a developer...
Since someone doesn't know what to download, get onto the "Top Charts" or getting tons of people reviewing your application on the net so when someone searches your keywords, the person who receive your application website will be there. This is actually a win-win situation, they get more people to their website and you achieve your goal.- Getting more people to download your application.
In conclusion, a smartphone isn't a smartphone unless they have application that benefit the user.

Understand Why Mobile Application Is Successful
Have you ever pondered with one of this question on why mobile application is successful? You will be able to understand why you should jump into mobile application today after reading this and the previous post.

To kick start this topic, I would like you to think of this, how many application have you purchase on your smartphone, tablet or such? Personally I do purchase several application and one of them include Papago, a GPS application which cost about $50 in the past I think but it's $24.99 now. Although this is a utility application, people who travel a lot would purchase them as they are cheap as compared to a GPS tablet which is installed on the car itself. Having this Papago on my iPhone allow me to bring it everywhere and I am able to download it to all my apple devices too.
This works wonders and the best feature is that it using location services which means it doesn't need any WIFI, 3G or whatsoever which cost money. A tip to increase price of an application is to increase your value.
Let's get on the topic while I put this aside. Do you know how Apple increase their potential sale of those paid application? It is simply by making the purchasing time shorter and easy. Just think about it, how many clicks do you need to take to purchase a paid application on your iPhone? Well, to be exact it takes only two clicks once you have purchase an application before.

CASE STUDY: Why You Should Go Into Mobile Application
Just a disclaimer that if you read this post, the figures shown here on the case study is wrong. The figures have already surpass the amount now and any case study who tries or prove the figures of people having a smartphone, tablet or such is wrong. It is impossible to get the correct figures already.

Just think about it, in Singapore, how many of our young generation uses a tablet? I would say even a one or two years old baby would already know how to operate such devices. This is remarkable as the technology is catching up much faster than any one would predict. Just imagine that the future would be a baby knowing how to operate a computer! In the past, we are not so fortunate to be able to own such technology. A simple computer running in pentium operating system with zeros and ones would easily cost a few thousands. With increase in technology, computers with much more features and benefit would be only a few hundreds.
Well, let's jump onto the topic on our case study. After having to research and talk to profession in mobile industry, they actually predicted that in 2013, or rather this year would have the highest download of mobile application as compared to the last five years or ten years. This shows that you will have to pick things fast and publish your application by the end of this year to have a chance to earn some money.
In wealth mastery, we talk about different aspect of making money one of them is a one time fee and the other is the recurring income. Having to build an application allows you to publish onto the marketplace, "marketplace" refers to application like "AppStore", "Google Play Store" or such. The more marketplace you publish your application to more exposure you get. Therefore you can sell multiple times of the same application without having to create the application when a person purchases it. In conclusion, you create the application once and you can get recurring income. Isn't that great?
According to a research in BusinessInsider, on the 7th February 2013, they have envision out of five people in the world, there will be one who owns a smartphone. So just imagine that you will be able to target one out of five people in the world. According to Google statistic, there are 7.046 billion people in the world on the 4th December 2013.
There Will Be 1.4 Billion Smartphones In Use By December
By the end of this current year, 1.4 billion smartphones will be in use: 798 million of them will run Android, 294 million will run Apple’s iOS, and 45 million will run Windows Phone, according to a new study by ABI Research. With the world population at 7 billion that will mean one phone for every five people in the world. The annual smartphone growth rate in 2013 is projected to be 44 percent, which is just ever-so-slightly down from 2012′s 45 percent but is still a torrid pace. ABI also predicts that 20 million BlackBerry 10 phones will be in active use at year-end. The result of that growth is a global customer market share of 57 percent for Android, 21 percent of iOS, and 3 percent for Windows Phone. This sounds big for Android, but is actually significantly down from its third-quarter 2012 performance, in which Android captured almost 70 percent global market share.
